Security Research Engineer

SecPod is a cybersecurity technology company based in India and the USA. SecPod (Security Podium, incarnated as SecPod) was founded in the year 2008.   SecPod’s SanerNow platform provides a paradigm shift in endpoint security and management. SanerNow automates cyber hygiene implementation, significantly increases IT and security effectiveness, and reduces IT management costs. Platform-specific tools provide vulnerability scanning, patching, compliance, threat detection, asset, and endpoint management in one dashboard with one agent to address multiple high-value cyber hygiene use cases. SecPod’s SanerNow platform and tools are used by MSPs and enterprises worldwide. SecPod also licenses security technology (OEM) to top security vendors. Experience: 0-3 years of experience in Information Security Research  

Qualification:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering Job Overview: Security Research Engineer will join the security research and development team. The role would involve performing research on latest vulnerabilities, developing security content and identifying ways to fix or mitigate the identified security vulnerabilities. A primary expectation would be genuine interest in the field of Information Security. Prior exposure to SCAP standards, security tool development, participation in community or projects related to security would be considered an added advantage.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Research and development of vulnerability detection scripts for the latest security vulnerabilities
  • Identifying ways to fix or mitigate the vulnerabilities
  • Creating remediation scripts (bash/shell/powershell)
  • Perform Peer testing and QA for the developed content
  • Automating repetitive tasks using Python or any other scripting language
  • Writing technical blogs/articles on the latest security trends/vulnerabilities/exploits
  • Developing security tools

Skills:

  • 0-3 years of experience in Security Content Development role with Enterprise Software/Security/Cloud/SaaS-based companies with a demonstrated track record
  • A clear understanding of Operating Systems and Networking, System Security, OWASP Top 10
  • Good Knowledge of System and Network security
  • Good in at least one of the programming languages (python/C/C++/LUA)
  • Good understanding of IT Infrastructure Management and Information Security and exposure to various security technologies
  • Familiarity across Unix/Linux, Windows, Mac systems and Virtualization
  • Strong communication skills, Verbal & Written (English)
  • Good analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle conflicting priorities
  • Eagerness to stay abreast with the ever-evolving security technologies
  • An eye for details and is challenge-driven
